When: Fri 22nd September to Sun 24th September
Time: All Day
For this year’s Plymouth Art Weekender, Ocean Studios will have a range on offer for you. From family workshops and activities to exhibitions and open studios, our building will be bustling with creativity.
Across the three days, there will be something different for you to discover. Interested in creating zines? Camilla Stacey will be delivering an exciting workshop, guiding self-expression through self-publication. Want to try your hand at something new? We will be offering workshop tasters, in addition to free papier-mâché making sessions, for which you’ll help to create a brilliantly big sculpture for display.
What’s more? There will be two exhibitions on display: Laura Edmunds will be unveiling a new body of work (A Soft Touch) whilst photographer Jojo will be showing his portraits of local people, focusing on single mothers and soul mates (U + ME = US). Our residents will also be opening their studio doors to you, giving you the chance to navigate our building and see the eclectic creative talent within it. Make sure to keep a look-out for a long knitted chain, created in aid of Jeremiah’s Journey Charity.
This year’s Weekender also welcomes our recent resident Fotonow CIC, an organisation using creative media to create social change. Find them in our photography corridor, showcasing DCRS asylum refugee project. Another recent addition is our Column Bakehouse Café, where you will find delicious delights and a place to have a peaceful break.
