Set sail for Royal William Yard’s swashbuckling Pirates Weekend.
Hunt for hidden treasure across the Yard, transform into a fearsome pirate or magnificent mermaid with face painting, and master circus skills like a nimble deck hand.
Adventure awaits for all ages, and grub and grog galore from the Yard’s resident restaurants, bars, and cafes

- Circus skills: Test your mettle with a pirate twist – walk the plank, juggle like an octopus, and find your sea legs on the roller bowler
- Treasure hunt: Grab a map and embark on a daring quest to uncover hidden treasure concealed around Royal William Yard to claim your bounty
- Craft zone: Visit the pirate craft zone to make your own pirate mask, take part in pirate puzzles and get creative
- Face Painting: Transform into a fearsome pirate or a mystical mermaid

Pirates of Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl
A tale of adventure set during the 17th Century in the Caribbean Sea. For the roguish yet charming Captain Jack Sparrow, the crystalline waters of the Caribbean, like the high seas the world over, present a vast playground where adventure and mystery abound.
Jack's idyllic life capsizes after his nemesis, the wily Captain Barbossa, steals his ship, the Black Pearl, and later attacks the town of Port Royal, kidnapping the Governor's beautiful daughter, Elizabeth Swann.

Policing in Plymouth Exhibition
Museum of Policing in Devon & Cornwall is proud to present an exhibition in association with Timelock Productions:
Policing Plymouth 1892 to 1929
1st to 10th May 2026. 11am to 4pm daily.
Policing Plymouth, navigating the late Victorian period into the Roaring Twenties.
Explore how early policing developed in Plymouth across the three towns and how changing expectations, technologies and fortunes changed policing.
Meet two of the most innovative Chief Constables of Plymouth during times of great change: Joseph Davidson Sowerby and Herbert Hards Sanders.
Find out how they led their officers, the difficulties presented by being part of an area of towns with high military activity. Campaigning for a safer Plymouth as well as maintaining law and order. With the advent of the motor car, the harsh reality of the Great War, and grinding poverty there was much to do.
The film, How Do You Fix A Town Like Plymouth, by Timelock Productions will be shown as part of the exhibition.
This dramatised documentary has been researched and presented by Professor Kim Stevenson covering the tenure of Chief Constable Sowerby up until 1914.

Free Ferry Service
Brave buccaneers can hop on board Plymouth Boat Trips’ ferry, setting sail from the Barbican to drop anchor in Royal William Yard Marina. The ferry service will be free of charge and funded by Plymouth Waterfront Partnership.

Plymouth Waterfront Partnership are running a Free Pirates Weekend Bus Shuttle service, in partnership with Plymouth Citybus, which will operate across all Pirate Weekend locations.
