It’s a much-loved, destination, with a mix of bustling restaurants, bars and shops, water sports and even our own marina, sitting alongside a lively artistic community, with a packed calendar of events, and so much to see and do.
Surrounded by water, Royal William Yard offers breath-taking views over Plymouth Sound and across to Cornwall - a vibrant hub for locals and tourists alike.
Yard Life
You can’t help but fall in love with the Yard, it’s alive with eating and drinking experiences, events and exhibitions, all within a relaxed and stylish waterside setting. Enjoy the open green space, walk the coast path, try stand up paddleboarding from Firestone Bay or hop on a ferry from the marina.

Everyman Cinema
Sit back and relax in our very own luxury cinema, based in the iconic Melville building. Experience cinema redefined with Everyman, with velvet sofas in three screens, gourmet food and cocktails served to your seat, and a sumptuous lounge and bar to socialise in style. From new blockbusters and classic throwbacks to theatre performances and concerts, enjoy a range of films in a setting like no other.
Eat & Drink
Royal William Yard has a well-deserved reputation as the place to come and eat; there’s something to tempt you back time and time again. Alternatively, if it’s refreshment you’re after we’ve got you covered, with everything from fine wines or healthy juices to great local beers and cocktails.
Relax & Play
Whether it’s energetic activities on the water, or relaxed dining with friends, we have plenty to keep visitors busy. They can also pick up a treat from our shops, which includes chocolatier Domea Favour, and clothing and lifestyle boutique, Identity Fashion.
We have a mix of local independents and more widely-known restaurants to dine indoors or alfresco. There’s freshly caught seafood at The Hook & Line, continental tapas at Le Vignoble, great food served all day at Seco Lounge, The News Cafe and Bistrot Pierre, and there’s always something good on the menu at Wildwood and Wagamama.
Come for a drink or two; we have a winebar, microbrewery, and Plymouth’s first speciality rum bar. Or try something a bit different, with a wine-tasting session at Le Vignoble or brewing experience at Steel Brew Co.
Burn it all off by walking the South West Coastal Path, join South West SUP for stand-up paddle-boarding tuition and guided excursions, or take part in ACE Swimming sea-swimming sessions. You could even charter a sailing boat!
